From Baby to Ballerina

Hello, I’m Gillian Winn.

Welcome to my school and the wonderful world of children’s ballet.

We are the classical ballet school in North West London! From baby to ballerina!

With studios in Hampstead, West Hampstead, Golders Green and Kilburn, we specialise solely in classical ballet and following the RAD syllabus. Our highly qualified teachers, often with two workings together in each class, many accompanied by pianists delivering inspiring classes, encouraging the love of dance. Those doing exams have all excelled, without exception, and we professionally staged children’s ballet productions are spectacular, incomparable in quality, style and content.

We are proud to announce that many students have progressed onto the associate programs, or full time ballet schools at Royal Ballet’s White Lodge, Elmhurst, Tring Academy of Performing Arts, London Studio Centre, London School of Contemporary Dance and Arts Educational.

Many of our dancers have been accepted into their chosen secondary schools through dance scholarships, delighting parents and staff alike. We are very proud of our students determination to succeed.

Those achieving Grade 6 and above, gain UCAS point towards their application to their chosen university.

I hope you enjoy browsing our website, the shows we have done, the girls and boys, in class, our very special teachers and don’t miss my short films which we are told have been very helpful as well as entertaining! Welcome to the West Hampstead School of Dance, leading classical ballet school in London!

Our girls love going to ballet class! Gill is an amazingly inspirational teacher! She is completely devoted to the progress of her pupils and leads by example with her indomitable spirit even through these troubled times. We are immensely grateful for her unwavering efforts while still creating an atmosphere of disciplined fun and sophistication for her aspiring ballerinas. Highly recommended.

I’ve been going to West Hampstead School of Dance for a few years and doing ballet twice a week with Gill and Suzi is definitely a highlight each week! Gill and Suzi are both very dedicated, professional and enthusiastic about passing on their passion and experience to us. I am so grateful that even now, ballet is still able to continue via zoom each week with additional YouTube videos made by the teachers which are helping me to keep fit.
