Welcome to my school and the wonderful world of children’s ballet.

We are THE Children and adult’s ballet school in North West London! From baby to ballerina!

We are proud to announce that we were recently presented in Parliament with the Community Champion Award.

RAD registered

Our MP Tulip Sidiq presenting Gill with the Community Champions award..

It is a great honour to have our reputation for bringing excellent quality ballet classes to all from children to adult at fair and affordable fees recognised in this way.

As a genuine ballet school living and teaching here for over 25 years all our try out classes are free and at all our studios including the Sherriff Centre St James hall the term is now £110 where a national franchise charge over £194!

Celebrating our 25th year living and teaching in Hampstead, West Hampstead, Golders Green and Kilburn.

As we go into our 25th year living, dancing and bringing up our own children in West Hampstead, our family of dancers and parents has grown and not only do we now have young women and men who have been with us all their lives we are now beginning to see their children begin the same journey.

Please take a quick look at any of our Google reviews. We are proud of these and grateful to all our parents for their honest and genuine feedback.

This is not a pretty picture website. Our aim is to guide and inform the new mums of nursery children about getting the best from your dance class and to reassure any older dancers joining that we have the expertise and reputation to take them to their next level and beyond.

St James hall The Sherriff Centre

Whilst word has got around our latest venue The Sidings Community Centre has taken off brilliantly with nursery age children especially keen to join in. We also have classes in two vibrant studios in St Andrews Frognal Lane, as well as West Hampstead Community Hall just off Mill Lane, StJames Hall at the Sherriff Centre and our very popular Free Church Hall studio in Hampstead Garden Suburb.

I have been dancing at West Hampstead School of Dance for many years. I have enjoyed my time there immensely. I’ve felt encouraged by the teachers every step of the way and I like to believe that with their guidance I have developed into a confident dancer. I highly recommend this dance school for anyone interested in dancing!

I’ve learned in this studio for a year, half of grade four and half of grade five and I have enjoyed every lesson very much. The teachers have taught me a lot and were always there to support me and help me grow. I have accomplished a lot this year and I am very glad I chose to go to this studio. Even though I’ve been in the studio for a short time I have connected with the teachers and students and had a great environment to learn. Really recommend for everyone, beginner or a long term dancer, the studio is very welcoming and helpful!

Gill and her team are completely inspirational in their dance teaching - they manage to make the lessons great fun for the children whilst also maintaining very high standards. My daughter loves the classes and looks forward to them every week.

Gill has been such inspiration to me as a parent of a young dancer. She saw the potential in my daughter and helped me recognise it and take it seriously, so much so that my daughter is now about to start at a vocational ballet school. Throught it all, Gill worked with her with such passion, supporting her to go further. Thank you Gill

I can’t recommend West Hampstead School of Dance highly enough! Both my daughters have thoroughly enjoyed their time at the school, from beginners to seasoned dancers, achieving amazing results in their RAD exams and auditions for vocational ballet schools. Gill and Suzi, who have taught my girls, are incredible teachers, enthusiastic, compassionate, engaged and incredibly professional with real expertise in what they teach. I sincerely believe you can’t get better ballet teachers and would not hesitate to encourage anyone looking for a ballet school for their child to get in touch.

Our eldest daughter started over a year ago and our younger daughter joined this term. They have great fun and really look forward to ballet classes. Not only is it a safe, fun and stimulating environment for our girls, the level of attention and care is really exceptional. Teg who runs the School alongside Gill goes above and beyond to ensure it is all smooth and effortless for parents and students (from ensuring there are toys for siblings to play with for those not yet able to partake or just waiting for a sibling to finish, to pre-cleaning the halls, and much else). It takes enormous effort, grit and determination to make these events run in the way they do, and I am sure we only see a very small part of all the organisation and hard work that goes into it all. Thank you for all and we look forward to the next class.

Great, first time there as a student and I'm excited to continue dancing there😊

We specialise in children’s ballet following the RAD syllabus. Our highly qualified teachers, often with two working together, delivering inspiring classes, and encouraging the love of dance. Those doing exams have all excelled, without exception and by popular demand we have introduced young adult ballet classes at St Andrews, a great venue with space and freedom to express yourself.

Our professionally staged children’s ballet productions are spectacular, incomparable in quality, style and content making life long family memories for young and old.
