About Gryte
Gryte was born in Kaunas, Lithuania, and started playing piano at the age of 7. In 2016 she was granted a scholarship to study at the Guildhall School Of Music And Drama with Professor Katya Apekisheva. Gryte has been awarded by both, the President and Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania for her artistic achievements and cultural merits for her country. She has recently given concerts both, as a solo pianist and chamber musician at the Barbican Centre, Kaunas Town Hall, Kaunas Philharmonia Hall as well as Kaunas Musical Theatre. In recent years, she has played in masterclasses by Andrey Gavrilov (Switzerland), Grigoryi Gruzmamn (Germany), Marc Leforet (France), Alexander Ivanov (Germany), Alexander Puliaev (Germany-Russia), Toms Ostrovskis (Latvia) and Gabrielius Alekna (Lithuania).
With her love of music, Gryte started playing piano at the age of 7.
Over the years , her dedication and talent became recognised and eventually she was awarded a scholarship to study at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music here in London,
a long way from her native Lithuania ! Her musical achievements have led her to be honoured by
both the prime Minister and the President of Lithuania with national awards for her contribution to the artistic merits of her country.
Gryte has performed in many Masterclasses in Lithuania, Switzerland, Germany, France and England and has recently Given concerts both as a solo pianist as well as in chamber
orchestras in Londons barbican Centre. It is no exageration to say we are honoured to have Gryte accompany our ballet at St Andrews where she brings Another dimension to the classes.
